HP 9135E Printer Setup and Configuration

Objective

This SOP outlines the steps to properly set up and configure the HP 9135E printer for use with index cards and Avery template documents.

Key Steps

 

1. Load Index Cards in Tray 1 0:00

  • Open Tray 1 of the HP 9135E printer.

  • Load index cards with the blue bar side down (front side facing down).

  • Ensure not to overfill the tray as index cards have a slower maximum fill line.

 

2. Load Avery Template Documents in Tray 2 0:29

  • Open Tray 2 of the printer.

  • Load the Avery template documents as instructed.

 

3. Connect Printer to Wi-Fi 1:07

  • Press the 'Menu' button on the printer.

  • Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Network' > 'Wi-Fi connection'.

  • Search for available networks and enter your Wi-Fi details.

 

4. Configure Paper Setup for Tray 1 1:22

  • Return to the home screen and select 'Paper Setup'.

  • Go to 'Settings' > 'Utility' > 'Trays'.

  • Select 'Tray 1' and modify the size to '3 x 5 inch' index cards.

 

5. Set Paper Type for Tray 1 2:01

  • After selecting the size, choose 'Heavier weight plain paper thick' for Tray 1.

 

6. Configure Tray 2 Settings 2:17

  • Leave Tray 2 set to '8.5 x 11 inch'.

  • Set the paper type for Tray 2 to 'Plain paper'.

 

7. Install Ink Cartridges 2:32

  • Open the ink cartridge section of the printer.

  • Remove all tape from the cartridges.

  • Install the ink cartridges securely.

 

8. Align the Printer 2:56

  • Follow the printer's instructions to align the cartridges after installation.

Cautionary Notes

  • Ensure that the index cards are not overfilled in Tray 1 to avoid jams.

  • Always check that the correct side of the paper is facing down when loading.
